Project Description:
This project will provide Federal Government with a robust central messaging infrastructure where by entitled employees could have official email accounts at the domain name chosen by their organization, accessible through a number of convenient delivery channels. This ensures that the employees can stay connected and communicate wherever they are and whenever it is required. The infrastructure is also intended to be integrated seamlessly with the ePortal.
Vision:
- To be able to provide unique identities for employees within Federal Government for official email communication.
- To have Standard Email Policies implemented across all Federal Ministries.
- Centrally enforce Security Standards and Policies for the infrastructure.
- Avoid duplication of resources and activities at various Ministries to manage messaging infrastructure.
- Consolidation of investment by individual Ministries for infrastructure.
- Reduced total cost of ownership.
- To grow steadily or exponentially without disruption of service.
- To integrate the messaging service with Federal Government ePortal.
Objectives:
- Agreeing on a set of standards for implementation, in order to have a uniform implementation for all Ministries/entities.
- Implementing the system.
- Streamlining and automating the provisioning process.
- Provisioning user accounts.
- Training the administrators on all advanced features/channels of the system.
- Delivering a robust and reliable solution.
- Delivering convenient and easy to use delivery channels.
- Ensuring Security for all sensitive Data & Back End Systems.
- Marketing of Services.
- Integrating with the ePortal with single-sign-on.
